Isla Cristina is a municipality in the province of Huelva that next to Ayamonte makes the border with Portugal. It is the most extreme western point in Costa de la Luz. A spot where the economy focuses mainly on tourism and fishing, along with the tourist complex shared with Lepe as well as Islantilla. The beach in Isla Canela and Punta del Moral are two places along the Islantilla margin that are most known.
Isla Cristina is a locality with a population of 22,000 inhabitants, and is located only 55 kms from the capital of the province of Huelva. It´s terminal municipality has an urban nucleus in Isla Cristina, La Redondela, and Pozo Camino, as well as a large tourist complex in Islantilla.
